Prepare to be amazed by the 1113 stained-glass windows to be admired in this masterpiece from the rayonnant Gothic period, listed as UNESCO world Heritage.

In the mid-18th century, Louis IX had the Sainte-Chapelle (Holy Chapel) built in the middle of his place of residence in Paris, the Palais de la Cité. Designed as a reliquary monument, at the time it housed Christ’s Crown of Thorns.

Featuring a unique series of fifteen stained glass windows and a rose window forming impressive glass walls, the Sainte-Chapelle, a genuine “cathedral of Glass”, is a masterpiece of French rayonnant Gothic architecture.
