Three workshops, three heritage techniques, a monumental and unprecedented artwork: at this very moment, an exclusive creation is taking shape to welcome visitors to the 2026 International Heritage Fair as soon as they enter. A project that embodies the theme of this year’s event in physical form, bringing together skills whose very essence lies in working with light: capturing it, passing through it, revealing it. Meet us in October at the Carrousel du Louvre to discover it.
At last year's edition in 2025, for the first time in the fair’s history, the event’s poster design came to life as soon as visitors entered: a screen co-created by Atelier Camuset, Féau Boiseries and La Maison du Vitrail welcomed visitors, immersing them in the heart of the craftsmanship behind Art Deco. For 2026, the fair is reviving this experience with a new exclusive creation, this time centred on the theme ‘Lighting up Heritage’.
With just a few months until the opening of the International Heritage Fair, a work of art is taking shape in the workshops. Atelier Aura, Studio Vitrail Bianconi and Miroiterie Perucca & Peronino are collaborating on the creation of a unique, monumental piece, designed specifically for the 2026 edition and its theme, ‘Lighting up Heritage’. Light will be showcased from different angles and through different materials.
This unique piece will showcase fine craftsmanship, playing on contrasts between colour, matt finishes, transparency, mirror effects and gilding to create a variety of harmonious lighting effects.
This project brings together several traditional techniques:
- églomisé glass, a decorative technique involving the application of metal leaf to the inner surface of the glass,
- stained glass, the art of light passing through coloured glass,
- and silvering and oxidation, glass-treatment processes that alter the reflection and patina.
Their collaboration, in a modern artwork created especially for the occasion, lies at the heart of this year’s theme. The creators draw their inspiration from the natural world, particularly the seabed, with its corals and shells.
The piece will be unveiled exclusively at the entrance to the fair, welcoming visitors as they step inside.
The three workshops involved in the project
Marie Roux, fine craftswoman specializing in the art of églomisé glass
Founded by Marie Roux, Atelier Aura carries on the art of églomisé glass — a technique of gilding beneath glass dating back to Antiquity, which involves fixing a sheet of metal (gold, silver or copper) to the inner surface of the glass, then engraving it to create decorative patterns and effects of depth. Drawing on her experience in the field of cultural heritage, Marie Roux reinterprets this rare craft through unique, hand-crafted pieces that combine the nobility of the material with the precision of the craft. A regular exhibitor at the International Heritage Fair, Marie Roux will be attending their 5th edition.
Bryce Bianconi, stained-glass artisan
Trained at the École du Verre Lucas in Nehou and subsequently under master glassmakers in the Chartres and Nancy regions, Bryce Bianconi has been practising his craft for over twenty years and founded Studio Vitrail Bianconi. Rooted in the tradition of stained glass, his workshop creates contemporary, bespoke designs, with a particular fondness for geometric compositions and colour harmonies. The interplay of light created by his stained-glass windows elevates interior design and enhances the spatial dimensions of a room.
Mathieu Perucca, glass craftsman
Representing the fourth generation of glaziers and mirror-makers, Cédric Peronino and Mathieu Perucca joined forces in 2014 and, following in the footsteps of their parents’ pride in their craft, decided to name the company after them: Miroiterie Perucca & Peronino.
Their experience in the glazing and mirror trade enables them to offer all the services of a traditional glazing firm (replacement of broken glass, glass roofs, canopies, stained-glass windows), as well as new techniques and materials such as lacquered glass, balustrades and double glazing with integrated blinds. For this installation, they will be showcasing a series of weathered mirrors.
